El terminador lunar es la línea que separa la parte iluminada de la parte oscura de la Luna. Esta zona es especialmente interesante desde el punto de vista observacional ya que es donde mayores contrastes encontramos y donde podemos observar con mejor detalle el relieve de nuestro satélite, al proyectar los picos y cráteres alargadas sombras o al asomar sobre la superficie en sombras las cumbres iluminadas.

Esta imagen es un mosaico resultado de diversas fotografías superpuestas. Fue obtenido a plena luz del día, tres horas después de alcanzar nuestro satélite la fase de cuarto creciente. Utilicé un filtro de paso infrarrojo que mejora el contraste y reduce el efecto del mal seeing, además es óptimo para la fotografía diurna de la Luna.

The lunar terminator is the line separating the illuminated part of the dark side of the moon.
